URGENT !
Fatal Feline Hit and Run – Pinecrest
A black and white cat – a kitten really, was struck and killed near 1040 Pinecrest. It is obvious by the blood stains in the center of the road, that it was hit at a significant speed and was apparently flung on impact into the out-bound ditch.
The deceased kitty was taken to the SPCA to determine if it was chipped. Upon examination, SPCA staff determined the young cat was NOT chipped and was an unneutered male, approximately 7 months old. Based on the extent of injuries it appeared to have been killed on impact.
I am hopeful the owners of the kitten will read this and claim their family member. However, if turns out to be a stray, or if no one claims the kitty, we will be forced to have Animal Control dispose of it.
If the kitten is not claimed by noon March 29^th, Anne Arundel County Animal Control will be contacted to dispose of the kitty. To claim the kitty, please call 410-224-3545.
My deepest appreciation for Kara Flynn for letting me know about the kitten.
Lastly, let’s all drive a little more slowly in the community; let’s be extra careful that our pets don’t sneak outside; and let’s make sure we always keep our dogs and cats on leashes when they are beyond our properties or control.
Thanks so much for listening and caring.
