ARPOA Full Moon Happy Hour Tonight
Strawberry Moon happy hour, 5:30-7:30 pm, Tuesday, June 14, 2022. BYO Beverage.
The Social Committee reserved the Overlook for an opportunity for folks to gather for a BYOB Happy Hour and to observe the rise of the Strawberry Moon – unfortunately, it is a “school night”…..
The weather has dampened the Overlook, but hopefully not your interest in enjoying one another’s company.
NOTE: The Social Committee is not staffing this event, nor are refreshments being provided (BYOB etc.) – but the Overlook and firepit is reserved.
‘Strawberry Supermoon’ marks lowest full moon of year
Astronomers marked the moon reaching its full stage early on Tuesday in what is known as the ‘Strawberry Supermoon.’ It’s a period in which the full moon is at its closest to Earth in the year. (June 14)
Why is the full moon called the Strawberry Moon?
Some Native American tribes referred to this full moon as the Strawberry Moon because it signaled a time for gathering ripening strawberries and other fruits. A supermoon occurs when a full Moon coincides with the Moon’s closet approach to Earth in its elliptical orbit, a point known as perigee.
Please, take care. Be safe.
Best wishes on behalf of the Annapolis Roads Board of Directors,
President, Annapolis Roads Property Owners Assoc. (ARPOA)
